About Senior ReCESS
Senior Recess began with a simple observation: as we age, some of the products we need inevitably change. Too often, good design gets left behind.
LIVE FULLY
I saw a different version of aging in my grandmother. She lived past 100, remained remarkably independent and lived life fully. She had a strong sense of style, knew what she liked and never seemed particularly interested in letting age define her. Her needs changed over time. Her sense of self didn't.
DESIGN THOUGHTFULLY
My grandfather shaped the other side of the idea. A designer and illustrator, he taught me to notice and appreciate the thought that goes into good design. Even his letters to us were illustrated and unmistakably his. His drafting table is my desk today, and it's where Senior Recess began to take shape.
OUR RHYTHM MAY CHANGE. WHO WE ARE DOESN'T.
Together, they shaped an idea that became Senior Recess: our rhythm may change, but our desire to keep living fully doesn't. The products around us should evolve with us — thoughtfully designed for how we live now and tomorrow.
